Our Not So Secret Sauce

Prospective clients often ask us what our secret sauce is.  We are delighted to tell them, “technically speaking, IT’s all about the people…period.”   Sounds a bit over simplified until you consider the incredible complexity of every person who’s ever lived.  We love “the ultimate people business”, not because it’s easy, but because few things are more gratifying than uniting co-creators in a worthy endeavor…aka work.

Founder’s Reflections

award 35 Years
Experience

I left IBM in 1984 for what turned out to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Ironically, I went from selling IBM hardware to leasing it to those preferring off balance sheet financing. It was fast, furious and financially rewarding…and I loved it! But, given the one-two punch of the 1986 Tax Reform Act and creation of IBM Credit Corporation, the blooms were rapidly falling from the leasing rose. That is why it came as no surprise when I was unceremoniously asked to leave my employer in 1989. I will be forever grateful for both the five glorious years we spent in Memphis and the experience of being fired from what was once the job of my dreams. Truly grateful, here’s why…

Towards the end of my time in Memphis, we started a tech staffing division that I oversaw and quickly became smitten with. So, when I was fired on Good Friday, I knew exactly what I wanted to do next. Eight days later April Fool’s Day 1989, Ambassador Solutions was born…no foolin’. Many years later, I began referring to ours as “the ultimate people business”. That is why I truly love it and can’t imagine doing anything else.

Our Mission

Build World-Class Tech Teams For America’s Most Admired Employers

We start by seeking the best possible outcome for client and candidate alike. With that as our true north, we are sure to reach the best possible result for all parties.  Experience has taught us that the right course of action is usually self-evident.  Taking it, however, can be both challenging and costly.  That is when our Core Values and Values in Action prove indispensable.

Our Vision

Nurturing Tech Talent

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”.  We wholeheartedly agree.  That is why our third Core Value exhorts us to “Nurture the dignity of all people”.

Without consistent and thoughtful nurturing, true tech pros can become disillusioned and distracted.  No one enjoys feeling taken advantage of regardless of their position on the org chart.  We understand this and work hard to make sure every candidate knows how much we appreciate the opportunity to be their Ambassador to our highly valued clients.

Our Values

Our Values To D.I.E. For And Live By

“We felt so strongly about our Core Values, we etched them in Indiana limestone on the lobby wall of our corporate headquarters. These three values represent the distilled essence of our uniquely inspiring culture.” ~Brad Lindemann, CEO and Founder of Ambassador Solutions

Dignity

Nurture the dignity of all people.

Integrity

Pursue uncompromised integrity.

Excellence

Deliver excellence.

Dignity

Nurture the Dignity of All People

Embrace The Whole Person

We embrace the whole person for both practical and philosophical reasons. On the practical side, we find that no one ever truly leaves their “baggage” at the door, so we help them carry it in. Philosophically, we celebrate the personal and professional growth of all teammates and work with each to overcome obstacles that might stifle that growth.

Humbly Serve Others

We are people serving people. We believe that our best interests are ultimately served by putting the interests of others before our own. Such service includes the giving of our time, talents and treasures (individually and corporately) to those less fortunate. We do this in hopes of improving their quality of life today and their odds for a better life tomorrow. We do this in hopes of changing the world…for the better.

Liberally Seek And Offer Forgiveness

When we make mistakes and sometimes offend others, we keep short accounts by liberally seeking forgiveness. When offended, we liberally offer forgiveness to those who have wronged us. Holding grudges only holds us back.

Recognize Weaknesses As Strengths Taken To Extremes

It’s easier to overlook and overcome weaknesses when you realize that most often, they are merely strengths taken to an extreme.

Integrity

Pursue Uncompromised Integrity

Listen With Understanding

We believe that the highest compliment we can pay to someone is to listen with understanding while listening poorly can be highly offensive.

Speak The Truth In Love

To speak the truth in love is to communicate accurately with proper motive and with the best interests of our listeners at heart. There is no middle ground between honesty and dishonesty—to deceive is to be dishonest.

Encourage Healthy Conflict

We encourage an open exchange of ideas and the healthy conflict that naturally follows from discussing matters of substance. We believe that unanimity is rare and therefore rarely required; while unity is essential once an issue has been fairly debated.

Do The Right Thing . . . Every Time

We are committed to doing the right thing every time with our Core Values and Values in Action as our guide. When we fall short and do the wrong thing, we make it right.

Excellence

Deliver Excellence

Learn Continuously

We believe in lifelong learning for teammates and clients alike. We consider “teaching our teammates/clients to fish” (rather than fostering an unhealthy dependency upon us) to be an important part of the work we do.

Put Team Before Self

We believe that we can accomplish more together than any one of us could ever accomplish alone. While we do not believe that winning is everything, we do believe that consistently doing our best in a winning effort is vital to long term success.

Do Your Best

Doing your best means giving your best effort with the best possible attitude, recognizing that both are always within your control. Doing your best means working hard AND smart, while living a balanced life. Working hard does not mean over-working to the neglect of one’s health, family and other higher priorities. Working hard does mean that, for brief seasons, life balance may be impossible to maintain, but we are deeply committed to restoring it as soon as possible.

Discover, Invent, And Innovate

We believe investigating our curiosities leads to discoveries, inventions, and innovations that improve the world around us. To unleash individual and collective creativity we must have the courage to test new ideas, confront possible failure, and discard obsolete ideas.

Our History

Ambassador Milestones

1989

Ambassador Solutions was founded on April 1,1989 as the Information Technology Division of Ambassador Financial Services, Inc. with a focus on IBM Mid-Range (RPG programming, Systems 36/38 and AS/400).

1997

Brad Lindemann acquires “Ambassador Consulting” from the Ambassador Group and begins expanding into Microsoft application development and SharePoint document management services.

2001

As the millennial clouds passed overhead and the dot com bubble burst, Ambassador Consulting is renamed Ambassador Solutions while experiencing their first ever reduction in force.

2005

After completing an extensive business plan (“True Course”) with expert outside assistance, Ambassador Solutions officially becomes a Microsoft Solution Provider and commits significant resources to expanding from that model.

2009

Our “True Course” business plan progressed up and to the right from 2005 to 4Q 2008 before the Great Recession led to our second major reduction in force. As we rose from the ashes of the recession and the workout group at Huntington National Bank (all by God’s grace), we recommitted to a traditional tech staffing business model going forward.

2020

Ten years later during the Pandemic, Ambassador Solutions had the most profitable year in its history.

2023

After five years with the “A Team”, Kara Wiggam, Director of Sales, is named future successor to our CEO, Brad Lindemann. One highly valued client had this to say about Kara: “I don’t have the words to express how glad I am that [client name] has reconnected with you on our search needs…I personally thank you for all you are doing for us, and the privilege of working with you again. You are a true blessing…”.

2024

We look forward to celebrating our 35th anniversary on April 1, 2024. To God be the glory!
