Creating a Customized Blog with the Community Kit for SharePoint: Extended Blog Edition
The Community Kit for SharePoint: Extended Blog Edition extends SharePoint's (WSS and MOSS) blog feature set with items that everyone has come to expect from a modern blog engine especially those that are targeted for public consumption.  Features like the Modular Theme Framework also make it easy to create highly custom blog templates and allow developers to more easily control the "dev-test-deploy" cycles during this creation.  In this session we will overview the features of the CKS:EBE as well as build out a customized masterpage and XSLT-based templates for use in a real-life blog.  We will also look at other third-party add-on's that can be used to put even more polish on your SharePoint-based blog.

While this is certainly a "development" topic, no managed code will be used in the demonstration.  Working knowledge of SharePoint architecture (lists, sites, features, etc...), HTML, and XSLT will be useful but not absolutely necessary.
