And the Biggest Loser is…..Troy Williams!

Congratulations Troy, the winner of our 9-week Biggest Loser Competition.  Troy lost an astounding 19.3% of his starting weight!

The first part of the competition ran from January 16 – March 20, and twenty Ambassador employees stepped up to the weight loss challenge.  Using their own mix of diet and exercise strategies, everyone had a personal approach to achieving a healthier lifestyle.  Week after week, the participants anxiously awaited the results to see who would appear on the leader board.  At the culmination of the first 9 weeks, Troy Williams was declared the Biggest Loser – an honor that awarded him $400 in cash and a $250 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods.   Here’s what Troy had to say about his accomplishment:

How did you do it?  Let us in on some of your secrets to success!
Troy:  At first I would eat what I wanted on the weekend but still worked out every day.  By Monday I would get to the previous weeks weight and then I would work on losing for the week.  After Week 4 I quit eating fast food and tried to maintain a semi low carb diet.  Every time I hit the wall I would take it easy and let my body adjust so it would think that was my normal weight.  Finally the last week I worked out twice a day and ate only hard boiled eggs and grilled chicken breast.  That's it, the last week was really hard and not recommended.

What is the first thing you ate after the final weigh-in?
Troy:  I ate Taco bell and it was disgusting.  I ate 2 tacos and threw the rest away.

What do you plan to do with the prize money?
Troy:  Not sure but with the Dick's card I am going to buy new running shoes.  I think my shoes have finally had enough.  Oh yeah, also I need to buy some new pants or spend money on tailoring.

Kudos to everyone who participated in the competition for the first 9 weeks!  The group lost a total of 277 pounds.  It’s not over though…a final weigh-in will be held on July 17 where we will recognize 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place losers, as well as those who have lost and kept off the 5% loss.  Stay tuned for to find out who the long-term losers will be!
